Contributor Agreement

This Contributor Agreement governs your participation as a recipe contributor ("Contributor") on the Maa platform operated by Maa Recipes Pvt. Ltd. ("Maa"). By submitting a recipe, you accept these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of India (for tax compliance purposes).
You must have a valid bank account in India to receive payouts.
Business contributors must provide a valid GSTIN if applicable.

2. Content Ownership & License

You retain ownership of all recipes you submit.
By submitting a recipe, you grant Maa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, market, and deliver your recipe content to users who purchase or subscribe.
You represent that the recipe is your original work and you hold all rights to it.
You may not submit recipes that infringe copyright, are plagiarised, or violate any third-party intellectual property rights.

3. Content Standards

All recipes must:

Be original, tested, and accurate — instructions must produce the described dish
Include a minimum of 4 structured steps with clear instructions
Have at least one high-quality cover photo (minimum 1200×800px, JPEG or PNG)
Not contain any harmful, misleading, or health-dangerous instructions
Not promote illegal substances or activities
Be in English (support for regional languages coming in a future update)

4. Moderation & Quality Review

All submitted recipes enter a moderation queue with a 24-hour SLA for review.
Maa may approve, reject, or request revisions. Rejection reasons will be provided.
Repeated submission of low-quality or plagiarised content may result in account suspension.
Maa reserves the right to add or modify taxonomy tags on your recipe to improve discoverability.

5. Revenue Share & Payouts

Contributors earn 80% of net revenue from individual recipe sales after Razorpay processing fees.
For subscriber-only recipes accessed by subscribers, revenue is distributed proportionally based on each recipe's share of total subscriber recipe views in the payout period.
Payouts are calculated weekly and disbursed every Monday via NEFT/UPI to your registered bank account.
Minimum payout threshold: ₹100. Balances below this carry over to the next period.
Maa will deduct TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) as per applicable Indian income tax law on payouts exceeding thresholds.

6. GST & Tax Compliance

If your annual earnings from Maa exceed ₹20 lakhs (₹10 lakhs for special category states), you are required to register for GST and provide your GSTIN.
Maa will issue monthly payout invoices including platform commission and applicable GST details.
You are responsible for declaring your Maa earnings in your annual income tax returns.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Submitting recipes you do not own
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or quality filters
Artificially inflating recipe ratings or reviews
Attempting to contact consumers outside the Maa platform for commercial purposes
Sharing or selling your contributor account credentials

8. Termination

You may close your contributor account at any time. Your published recipes will remain available to users who have already purchased them.
Maa may terminate or suspend your account for violation of this agreement, with or without notice depending on severity.
Upon termination, pending payouts for already-sold recipes will be disbursed within 30 days, minus any outstanding refund obligations.

9. Dispute Resolution

Disputes between Contributors and Maa will first be attempted through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes will be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, in Gurugram, Haryana.

10. Updates to This Agreement

We may update this agreement with 30 days' notice via email. Continued submission of recipes after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
